Machine Operator/Apprentice Press Operator
The New Mexican, a seven-day newspaper and commercial printing operation, needs a Machine Operator/Apprentice Press Operator to join our staff. Applicants need to be able to pay excellent attention to detail, be quality oriented, and be able to work in a demanding, fast-paced team environment, be punctual and be willing to work any shift to be considered for the position. You will participate in our training program learning the necessary skills and knowledge to operate independently as a Production Machine Operator/Press Apprentice.
Individuals that are mechanically inclined, possess some electronic skills, or have prior printing/manufacturing experience will be preferred. Per hour compensation will be based on prior related experience. The New Mexican offers a comprehensive benefits package, after probationary period, including health, dental, vision, holidays, sick, vacation leave, plus company paid life insurance. The apprentice program offers multiple step pay increases as the apprentice advances in learning the trade.
Necessary Skills: The ability to communicate with co-workers and stand for prolonged periods, repetitive bending and lifting of 20 pounds and ability to safely lift up to 75 pounds. Able to work safely with chemicals.
The New Mexican production facility is located off I-25 and Cerillos Road in Santa Fe at One New Mexican Plaza. Applicants considered for employment must complete a pre- employment physical and drug test.
